Squid spaghetti with garlic

Best squid spaghetti with garlic I’ve ever had. It’s a very simple recipe that gives you a tasty dinner. I like to treat myself to such dishes at the end of a busy week. Furthermore, this squid spaghetti with garlic goes very well with a glass of wine… and that’s how you choose a typical Italian dinner. Let the weekend come and let’s enjoy good food, quality wine, and of course dolce far niente like the Italians.

preparation time: 5 min | cooking time: 20 min | serves: 2

Squid spaghetti with garlic

300 g squid
4-5 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons of olive oil for marinating the squid
180 g spaghetti
1/2 hot red pepper
1 zucchini
50 ml olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley or a bunch of fresh parsley
a pinch of salt

  1. Start by washing the squid well and then cut them into small pieces of about 2 cm.
  2. Put the squid in a bowl together with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and the garlic pressed.
  3. Peel zucchini and then cut it into small cubes.
  4. In a large pan, put the remaining olive oil, add zucchini, and cook on medium heat, stirring from time to time, for 10 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, wash and deseed the red pepper and then chop it finely. Add it over the zucchini and cook it on low heat for another 5 minutes.
  6. Boil the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package. Depending on the type of spaghetti you used, the cooking time differs. It is important not to add oil to the water in which the spaghetti is boiled, regardless of the pasta recipe you will prepare, as the oil makes them slippery and the sauce used later does not match perfectly. Add also a pinch of salt at the same time that you add spaghetti in boiled water.
  7. Add the squid mixture to the pan, over the zucchini. Cook it on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. In the meantime, you can chop the parsley – if you choose to use the fresh ingredient.
  8. When the spaghetti is done, add them to the pan over the composition. Also, add a half ladle of boiled spaghetti water and mixed it well with slow movements.
  9. Then add the parsley and turn off the heat.

Enjoy! 🙂

How many pasta recipes exist?

The answer is: as many as you want! If you also love pasta, be brave and creative and try as many tastes, and flavors and enjoy the savor of simple ingredients.

For this sensational dish, we started from the equally delicious classic recipe of pasta Aglio Olio e Peperoncino. To this, I added squid and zucchini. I like pasta and I always want to try new tastes and recipes, and this combination of squid and zucchini seems perfect to me.

To prepare some delicious pasta, you don’t need a lot of ingredients, not even the most sophisticated ones. The Italians taught us that unique and unforgettable flavors can be obtained with classics and only a few ingredients.

Some of my favorite pasta recipes…

Another pasta recipe that I love and remember eating at some point every day is Homemade Pesto Pasta with Cherry Tomato. The one who invented pesto sauce did a great job. I think it’s the best sauce ever.

A delicacy that I recently heard about is pasta cacio e pepe, which means cheese and pepper… I’m always amazed when I hear about recipes like this because I wonder: how did someone come up with this combination? how was it created and what is the story?

I also like pasta with white sauce and mushrooms. Like the ones with pesto, at one point I only want just eat pasta with white sauce and mushrooms. I’ve always been picky about food, and when a dish becomes an obsession :)) it means it’s a top dish.

Whatever we say, Italian food is the most famous, the most delicious, and the friendliest to our budget. It is always quick and easy to prepare and pleases all our taste buds.

Pasta with tuna, red onion, and capers is also delicious. Also, the pizza with this combination is super tasty. I like to prepare pasta with just tuna and also combine it with red sauce.

Quattro Formaggi pasta is super easy to prepare, and quick and of course, the taste will always be top-notch if you add quality ingredients.

What wine do we choose for this squid spaghetti with garlic?

When preparing pasta with red sauce, it is best to choose a wine with low acidity as we already have the acidity of the tomatoes. This is not the case here either, since, for this squid spaghetti with garlic recipe that derives from the classic Aglio olio e peperoncino pasta recipe, we must choose a wine with high acidity. Fruity white wine, such as a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay, seems the most suitable to me.

And because many people don’t like white wine, we did some research and we have a red wine that goes well with this delicious spaghetti. The Malbec red wine variety is perfect for this special recipe. You can also choose any red wine you like, just take into account choosing one with high acidity for an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
