Burrata Toast with Mushrooms

Here is a delicious and healthy breakfast. This burrata toast with mushrooms is super easy and quick to cook. With the help of mushrooms and spinach, you bring extra beneficial nutrients to your body. Whether you’re sharing this delicious breakfast with your loved one or making this delicious recipe just for yourself, choose to cook both portions. I do this on busier days and in the morning I enjoy a delicious breakfast and for lunch, I enjoy the second toast prepared in the morning. It is very easy and delicious so I manage to save time and eat healthily.
The creaminess of the burrata cheese, the taste of juicy tomatoes, the flavor of the seasoned mushrooms, the sauteed spinach, and the flavor of the parmesan cheese made this burrata toast with mushrooms a favorite breakfast for the whole family.

Burrata Toast with Mushrooms

Ingredients

2 large slices of bread
100 g burrata cheese
2 medium tomatoes
150 g brown shimeji mushrooms
100 g baby spinach
30 g parmesan
3 tablespoons of olive oil
spices – a pinch of each black pepper, garlic, oregano
optional a pinch of chili flakes




Method

  1. Start by washing the shimeji mushrooms well and then cut about half a cm from their tails – enough to separate little mushrooms from each other. Along with the olive oil, put the mushrooms in a large pan to cook them.
  2. Stir gently from time to time so that they cook evenly. Cook them for 10 minutes on medium to high heat.
  3. Add the spices, mix well with a wooden spoon and then put the spinach leaves covered with a lid. After 3 minutes of cooking on medium heat, stir gently and turn off the heat. Optionally, you can also add chili flakes if you like to eat spicier.
  4. Transfer the mushrooms with spinach to a bowl and put the bread slices to fry in the same pan in which you cooked the mushrooms.
  5. While the bread is toasting evenly on both sides, on low heat, start slicing the tomatoes and grating Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
  6. On each slice of toast, spread half of the burrata. Then place the tomato slices along the toast, put half the amount of mushrooms and spinach on each slice, and sprinkle parmesan cheese.

Why do I choose to make this burrata toast with mushrooms for breakfast most of the time?

Why did I choose to combine these delicious ingredients to make this breakfast? It is very simple. Because of the multitude of nutrients, at the same time, we enjoy the most delicious burrata toast with mushrooms. And in addition, it is a breakfast that is prepared simply and quickly.

Shimeji mushrooms – are some cute mushrooms that we have not been used to before. I chose to use shimeji mushrooms in the preparation of this breakfast, as they can bring many benefits to our bodies. These mushrooms are a rich source of fiber – which helps the digestive system, potassium – which helps regulate fluids, protein synthesis, and cardiovascular health, zinc – which ensures the proper functioning of the immune system and regulates metabolism, proteins, copper, selenium, and complexes of vitamin B. Shimeji mushrooms are low in fat – that is perfect!

Shimeji mushrooms can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week before cooking. It is recommended to consume shimeji mushrooms only from safe, commercially available sources. Not all varieties of shimeji mushrooms are edible. To avoid consuming poisonous varieties, it is recommended not to procure them directly from nature.

Burrata cheese – is a combination of mozzarella and sour cream. Burrata cheese is made from buffalo milk. Eating burrata cheese benefits the bone system in particular, as it is a good source of calcium, potassium, and phosphorus.

Spinach – we know since we were little, from cartoons, that spinach is very healthy and that it gives us strength and energy. Thus, eating spinach increases vitality, fights fatigue, and improves blood quality. Consuming spinach can also improve eyesight as it has a high content of lutein and beta-carotene. Beta-carotene becomes easily absorbed after cooking, therefore only the 3 minutes of cooking gives us extra vitality and health.




Parmesan – has a multitude of benefits!

Parmesan could not be missing from this healthy toast. Parmesan offers many benefits to our body and that’s why I chose to present them to you, separately, in this chapter. Adding Parmesan to my recipes enhances the flavor of the dishes while providing me with excellent nutritional value.

Parmesan cheese is rich in protein. The lack of moisture and the ripening process help create a large number of proteins, making Parmesan the richest source of protein among cheeses. Calcium is essential for the proper growth and development of the body. It is not missing from the composition of parmesan. It also contains a significant amount of vitamin A, which is beneficial for the skin, and teeth and helps improve vision.
Parmesan contains Omega-3 – an important source of fatty acids. These fatty acids have proven health benefits such as lowering triglycerides, reducing inflammation, improving vascular function, and lowering blood pressure.

Also, every good has a bad part. Parmesan contains a large amount of salt, as salt is the only preservative used in its preparation. Therefore, when I add parmesan to food, I avoid adding extra salt. I generally don’t add salt to food, unless the ingredients I’m making a recipe with are sodium-free. Even then I add very little, as I like to feel the pure taste of the ingredients and I don’t think that food tastes good only if it has salt.

Another delicious and healthy breakfast that will delight all your senses, and to which, yes, we also added parmesan, is the famous avocado toast with smoked salmon, and poached egg. Trust me, it’s sensational!
